After working on a deal to bring in the midfielder from Belgian side Standard Liege, the Gers finally managed to sign him for an undisclosed fee on deadline day.

It was Beale’s second piece of business in January following the arrival of Todd Cantwell from Norwich City earlier in the window.

Beale, while giving his opinion on the signing of Raskin, revealed that the 21-year-old has been someone Rangers have tracked for a long time.

He further took time to make it a point to highlight the midfielder’s experience in Europe as well as in Belgium to stress the fact that Raskin will be a valuable addition to the team.

“As a football club, Nicolas is a player that we have tracked for a long time and we are very pleased to welcome him and his family to Rangers”, Beale told his club’s official website.

“He is a young player that has already amassed good experience both in domestic and European competition.

“I am looking forward to working with him closely and integrating him into our team.”

Raskin featured in 17 Belgian top flight games so far this season, setting up four goals for his team-mates and scoring one.
