Leeds are on the lookout for a new manager after they decided to bring down the curtains on Jesse Marsch’s reign at the start of the week.

A 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Wednesday night came as encouragement for a struggling Leeds side and they have been keen to bring in a new manager before Manchester United visit Elland Road on Sunday.

But their pursuit of Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola ended in failure after the Spaniard rejected a move to west Yorkshire in the middle of the season.

Slot is another name on their shortlist of targets and the Dutchman is aware of the speculation linking him with a move to Leeds.

However, he claimed that he is yet to receive any communication from the Premier League side over their managerial vacancy.

Slot told ESPN Netherlands: “I have not heard anything.

“I have read it, I follow Voetbal Primeur and Voetbal International but I haven’t seen anything on my phone yet.

“What will I do when a message comes in from Leeds? Open the message.”

It remains to be seen whether Leeds will manage to bring in a new manager before the weekend.
