A move for Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola has slowed down due to the Spaniard’s reluctance to leave the Spanish club via the release clause route.

Leeds have now made a move to bring in Slot and they have made an offer to the Dutchman to move to Elland Road.

The 44-year-old has earned plaudits for taking Feyenoord to the top of the Eredivisie by playing an exciting brand of football this season.

But it has been claimed that Slot is agonising over whether to accept the offer to become the Leeds boss.

He is intrigued by the offer and has the ambition of managing in the Premier League going forward.

However, Slot is in two minds over whether to leave Feyenoord in the middle of a season where he could win the league title.

He is uncertain about the timing and is not sure whether to leave the Rotterdam club at this juncture.

Should he accept the offer, it would be an easy deal for Leeds to complete as he has a €6.5m buyout clause in his Feyenoord contract.
