With Pascal Struijk out injured, Firpo has started the last two Premier League games for Leeds and has earned praise for his individual performances.
Firpo missed the start of the season due to an injury problem and later found it difficult to break into the team under previous manager Jesse Marsch.
Some feel he is getting back to his best gradually and Firpo admitted that he is feeling better because he is again playing games regularly, which is something every player wants.
He believes he has completely recovered from his injury problems earlier in the season and he conceded while it is strange to feel good about himself with Leeds struggling, he believes he is in a much better place in terms of confidence and form at this stage of the season.
Asked if he feels he is back to his best, the Leeds star said on LUTV: “Yes, well, I am coming back to playing.
“That is the thing all the players want, to be always on the pitch and being able to help the team.
“I have had, basically in the first part of the season, some injury problems and was not having my best time here.
“Right now I feel really good, I have recovered and I am playing well now.
“When you lose games it’s difficult to say you are playing well because you are losing games but I feel better, confident and stronger.”
Firpo is likely to start again when Leeds host Southampton at Elland Road on Saturday in a relegation six-pointer.
