Rangers, who sit distantly in second position in the Scottish Premiership table, are 13 points adrift of the potential champions and their arch-rivals Celtic and are looking to revamp their squad for next season.

Michael Beale’s side, who lost to Celtic by a 1-0 margin in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday, are claimed to have sealed a deal for Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell on a three-year contract and are keen to bring English goalkeeper Jack Butland to Ibrox.

After Sunday’s defeat at the hands of the Bhoys, Gers manager Beale admitted that his side are facing their biggest rebuild in several years.

The Scottish giants are now linked with QPR loanee Iroegbunam, who has so far played 32 matches for the Loftus Road outfit and scored twice, ahead of their potential squad overhaul for next season.

However, Aston Villa have denied being contacted by the Gers for the 19-year-old English midfielder, whose contract with the Villans expires in 2027.

Beale, who worked with Iroegbunam when he was the manager of the west London side, could be keen to bring in the player to add to his revamped squad for next season.

It remains to be seen whether the Gers can outpower their arch-rivals Celtic next season, as their own hopes of winning at least a trophy this season have ended.
