The Villans have made a bad start to the season with a 5-1 defeat at Newcastle and Unai Emery wants to add more bodies to his squad.

The Aston Villa boss wants to add a left-back to his squad before the window slams shut on 1st September.

Monchi, Aston Villa’s new director of football, is planning to raid his former club Sevilla to bring in a solution for the Midlands club.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Aston Villa are interested in snaring Acuna away from Sevilla in the finals weeks of the transfer window.

It has been claimed the Villans are in direct contact with Acuna and his representatives and Sevilla over trying to sign the 31-year-old.

The Midlands club are hoping to work out a deal with Sevilla to take the player to Villa Park this summer.

The Spanish club are also anticipating the departure of Acuna and are already lining up a replacement in VfB Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa.
