He has a year left on his contract at Everton and has been keen to move on from Goodison Park this summer.

The winger has not been part of Everton’s plans at the start of the season and he has been heavily linked with a move to the Middle East.

However, his future is still in the balance on deadline day and Lille are now trying to sign the winger in the final hours of the window.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Lille have put in an offer to sign the winger on loan from the Merseyside outfit today.

The French are prepared to pay a loan fee to secure Gray’s services on the final day of the transfer window.

Sean Dyche is prepared to move him on and Lille are hopeful that they will be able to finalise a deal to sign him in the coming hours.

Gray is likely to assess the offers from the Middle East if he is unable to secure a move to a club in Europe today.
