Ferguson returned to management earlier today after he became the new Inverness boss on a three-year contract.

The club are at the bottom of the Scottish Championship table and Ferguson is aware that he has got his work cut out to rescue their season.

The 51-year-old is hopeful that he will improve results in the coming weeks but is already looking at the winter window for new solutions.

And it has been claimed that he has been on the phone with Rodgers to discuss signing potential players from Celtic.

The former Scotland striker is looking to bring in players on loan from Celtic in the winter transfer window.

He is hoping that Rodgers will provide insight into some of the youngsters and players on the fringes of the Celtic first-team squad.

Ferguson is keen to get a helping hand from the Celtic boss in order to strengthen his Inverness squad in January.
