The Fratton Park outfit secured a 2-1 win against Lincoln City in their latest League One match, propelling them to the top of the league table.

Due to an ankle injury suffered early in the season, Mousinho is trying to ease in Anjorin and is yet to give him his first start for Portsmouth, preferring another youngster, Robertson, in the attacking midfield role.

Robertson, who is on loan from the treble winners, has settled in nicely at Pompey, having already made five starts for Portsmouth in the league.

Mousinho stated that the Manchester City loanee’s strong showing against the Imps has given him some more time to be patient with Anjorin.

He hinted that he is going to use the Chelsea loanee carefully until he gets his match sharpness and continue with Robertson in the first team.

Mousinho told The News: “It’s maybe going to be another couple of weeks.

“We don’t want to risk anything with Tino, we need to get him up to match sharpness.

“There’s never going to be an ideal time and we don’t want to take too long with him, but at the moment, in terms of players in his position, Alex was excellent against Lincoln and that’s given us a couple of extra weeks to get Tino up to speed.”

It remains to be seen whether the Portsmouth manager continues to start with Robertson, even if Anjorin becomes ready to play more minutes.
