Howe’s side are set to play host to Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday evening in what promises to be another memorable St James’ Park evening.

 

Midfielder Joelinton was in action for Newcastle during the win over Crystal Palace at the weekend as he recovered from a hamstring injury.

 

 

 

The Brazilian clocked 80 minutes against the Eagles and is now eyeing making his Champions League bow for the Magpies on Wednesday.

 

“I’m very excited to play and I hope I start the game [against Borussia Dortmund]”, Joelinton told BBC Radio Newcastle.

 

 

“I just want to be with the team to help the guys on the pitch.

 

“I hope I can make my Champions League debut for Newcastle on Wednesday.”

 

 

Borussia Dortmund warmed up for their visit to Newcastle with a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga and are now undefeated since a 2-0 loss at Paris Saint-Germain on 19th September.
