Gnonto, 20, was the subject of transfer controversy in the summer after the Italian insisted on making a switch to Everton.

However, the star attacker later apologised to Whites boss Farke for his behaviour and became part of the German’s plans moving forward.

There has been hope that Gnonto would turn the page on the saga by putting pen to paper to a new contract at Leeds.

However, there has been no progress amid Gnonto enjoying limited playing time under Farke, who prefers other options to start games.

Already transfer speculation has sparked up around the Italian due to his lack of minutes.

Gnonto, an Italy international, will be keen to make sure he places himself in the best possible spot ahead of Euro 2024 in the summer and that will mean playing games.

It remains to be seen if there will be any progress towards a new deal for Gnonto in the coming weeks and months.

Gnonto has so far made nine league appearances for Leeds this term and is hoping to get involved more with his side’s campaign moving forward.
