After impressing last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, the 21-year-old Liverpool defensive midfielder was sent to Hull on another loan stint this term as the Reds look for him to continue his development.

Morton quickly managed to establish himself as a regular in Liam Rosenior’s squad and has made ten appearances for the Tigers so far.

The Liverpool midfielder stated that Hull’s style of football was a factor behind his decision to join Rosenior’s side, which he believes will help him improve his game.

Morton also added that Rosenior has been excellent towards him and his family and stated that the coaching staff and players at Hull are top-class.

“For me it [why I joined] was the style of play”, Morton was quoted as saying by Hull Live.

“I could see myself fitting into this team and the way they play with their energy and enthusiasm to play out from the back.

“It’s the perfect way I want to play football and it’s the perfect way for me to develop.

“He’s [Rosenior] been brilliant with me and my family.

“It was Hull from the start, that’s where I wanted to come and that’s where I got to in the end because the quality of the players and staff are top-notch.”

In the ongoing season, Morton will be hoping to impress Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp with his performances at Hull to get into his plans for next season.
