Liverpool suffered a poor season last term, being knocked out of the top four, but they are back and challenging for the title this season.

Champions Manchester City are expected to present a big challenge again, while Arsenal are also firmly in the mix.

Manchester City are set to go away to play in the Club World Cup later in the month while Arsenal have ensured progress to the next round of the Champions League.

Bosnich believes that Arsenal’s challenge in Europe is a lot different to that of Liverpool and the Reds can afford to play their second-string squad in the Europa League.

He feels that Liverpool have a key advantage that their rivals must be wary of.

“Manchester City have to go off to play the World Club Championship and Arsenal are now in the Champions League which is a lot different to the Europa League of last season”, Bosnich told BBC Radio 5 live.

“The one team that everyone has to be very careful of is Liverpool they can afford to play their second-string side in the Europa League.”

After last night’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United, Jurgen Klopp’s side are now set to visit Crystal Palace on Saturday.
