The Gers are in the thick of a busy run of fixtures which limits the amount of time that Clement has to introduce new ideas on the training pitch.

Following the weekend clash with Dundee, Rangers have another six games to squeeze into December, including the final of the Scottish League Cup with Aberdeen and an Old Firm clash with Celtic.

Asked at a press conference what he does between games with his players during a busy period, Clement, smiling, joked: “We have a lot of drinks here and we eat together.”

Then addressing the question seriously, the Rangers boss added: “What we do with them, the day after the game it’s recovery for the guys who played.

“They also use the cryo-chamber, they get treatments, they get massages, do cycling, do their exercises, we try to do those to get them to become stronger, with muscles they used less in the game.

“The day after it is tactical training and then they go home and rest because it is only two days between games.”

December could be a pivotal month for Clement early into his Rangers career, with the chance to pick up a trophy looming large on the horizon.
