Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has expressed his delight at the club bringing in Adam Sadler as his new first team coach, following the exit of Harry Kewell.

Former Australia international Kewell is heading for Japan with Yokohama F Marinos and his spot will be filled by ex-Leicester City coach Sadler.

Sadler worked with Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and has also held positions with clubs such as Manchester City, Newcastle United and Norwich City.

He is now slotting in as Celtic’s first team coach and Rodgers is delighted to be able to call upon him going forward, especially as Sadler knows his methods.

Rodgers told his club’s official site: “I am really pleased to welcome Adam to Celtic.

“He will be a fantastic addition to our coaching team and I know he will bring some great experience and ability to add to the club.

“Having worked with Adam previously we already have a great working relationship and understanding.

“He knows the way I work and I know his skills, so once again we will aim to work well again and every day look to develop our players further and improve the team as we take the club forward.”

Sadler will look to quickly adjust to life at Celtic as the Bhoys chase the Scottish Premiership title.
