Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has selected his starting eleven and substitutes to lock horns with Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League this evening.
Howe is coming under increasing pressure following a poor run of results for the Magpies and will not want to start 2024 with another defeat.
The Magpies boss continues to wrestle with injury issues and will try to shuffle his pack to find a result at Anfield tonight.
To do that, Newcastle will have to change recent history, with Anfield a ground Newcastle have not won at in the Premier League since 1994.
Martin Dubravka is in goal for Newcastle on New Year’s Day, while at the back Howe selects Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Dan Burn as a four.
Midfield sees Newcastle deploy Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Miley and Sean Longstaff, while Anthony Gordon and Joelinton support Alexander Isak.
If Howe needs to influence the game from the bench he has options and they include Miguel Almiron and Matt Ritchie.
