Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has given his seal of approval to the club moving for Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier.

Dier is out of contract at Tottenham in the summer and has emerged as a low-cost option for Bayern Munich this month.

The defender has a verbal agreement with the German giants, but there has been no final decision about a move to Munich for him from the club and he is waiting to see what happens.

Speculation is rife that he will join Bayern Munich though and Neuer indicated he would approve if the club do sign the Spurs man.

Neuer was quoted as saying to German daily TZ: “The name definitely sounds good, that’s for sure.

“The people in charge will explore the market, we are completely relaxed about it.”

Tottenham have made bringing in a centre-back during this month’s transfer window a priority and are trying to sign Radu Dragusin.

Dier is out of favour under Ange Postecoglou and would welcome a reunion with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.

Kane is pushing for Bayern Munich to sign Dier.
