Djed Spence is training with Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-21s following his return to the club from Leeds United, according to Football London.

The full-back was snapped up by Leeds on loan in the summer transfer window, but injury restricted his opportunities to make an impact at Elland Road.

Spence had regained his fitness in recent weeks and some eyebrows were raised when Leeds decided to terminate his loan earlier this month.

The defender is now back at Tottenham, but he is training with the Under-21s and not the first team.

Spurs plan to ship Spence out on another move and the defender is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans, despite his early return.

It remains to be seen what options might become available for Spence, who is available not just on loan, but also on a permanent deal if the right offer comes Spurs’ way.

All eyes will be on whether Leeds enter the market this month to replace Spence.

Whites boss Daniel Farke has been unclear on that prospect, aside from stressing that his side had to do without Spence for much of the campaign due to injury in any event.
