Portsmouth have not made any bid for Wigan Athletic star Callum Lang in spite of the player being well-respected at Fratton Park, according to the BBC.

Lang has worn the skipper’s armband for the League One outfit this season and has been used in multiple positions by manager Shaun Maloney.

He has caught the attention of the league leaders, who have been linked with a move for him this month.

There is no truth to reports about the Pompey having already made a bid for the player though.

Lang is rated at Portsmouth and is a player the League One giants are very much aware of, but no offer has gone in.

Manager John Mousinho has previously stressed the need for his team to be more active in January when it comes to signing new players.

However, there is nothing imminent at present regarding incomings at Fratton Park.

All eyes will be on whether Portsmouth do eventually slap in an offer to sign Lang.
