Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is just one step away from leaving Ibrox to sign for Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona.

The Turkish left-back joined Rangers in the summer of 2022 but has failed to make a big impact at the Scottish giants.

Yilmaz not yet won over Rangers boss Philippe Clement this season and the Gers are actively in the market for another left-back.

The 22-year-old has no shortage of suitors in the ongoing window, with teams in the form of Verona, Torino and Galatasaray.

However, it is Verona who are now set to win the race for his signature.

And according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Verona are one step away from signing Yilmaz on loan for the rest of the season.

Verona will have the option to buy Yilmaz at the end of the season, but the clause will become an obligation if they survive in Serie A.

The Italian outfit are 18th in the league table and will be hoping that Yilmaz can quickly adapt to the demands of Serie A football.
