Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has stated that he is not aware of any club showing interest in Matt O’Riley in the ongoing transfer window.

The 23-year-old midfielder was signed from MK Dons by Celtic in January 2022 and he has established himself as a key player for the Bhoys.

O’Riley’s performances attracted interest from clubs in the summer and it is suggested that Spanish outfit Girona are after the Celtic midfielder’s signature.

However, Rodgers has claimed that he is not aware of any interest in O’Riley in the ongoing window but believes that it is natural for a player of the Danish midfielder’s quality to attract attention from other clubs.

When asked whether he is aware of any interest in O’Riley, Rodgers said at a press conference: “None.

“Not aware of any, but it’s natural.

“I think if we have good players, then of course they will attract attention but it is [something] I am not focused on.”

O’Riley has featured 21 times in the league for Celtic this season, scoring ten goals while assisting seven goals in the process.
