Blackburn Rovers have tabled a bid to sign Viking defender David Brekalo on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The Championship side have money to spend in the last 24 hours of the transfer window after they bagged £22m from the sale of Adam Wharton to Crystal Palace.
Jon Dahl Tomasson has moved quickly to try and strengthen his squad and he is eyeing additions in several areas.
The Blackburn boss wants to bring in a centre-back before the window slams shut on Thursday night.
According to Norwegian outlet Nettavisen, the Championship side have put in a bid to sign Viking centre-back Brekalo.
The 25-year-old is a Slovenia international with eleven international caps and has been at Viking since 2021.
Blackburn have offered to sign him on loan with an option to buy set between £2.25m to £3m.
Viking also have another offer on their table for Brekalo from MLS outfit Orlando City this winter.
The American side have offered to sign him for a guaranteed fee of £2.25m but over several years and another £300,000 in add-ons.
The Norwegian outfit are weighing up the two offers while Brekalo also considers the options on his table.
