Derby County will not be signing Sheffield Wednesday striker Lee Gregory in the final hours of the transfer window, according to the BBC.

The veteran forward has not played much football since October and is in the final six months of his contract at Hillsborough.

Wednesday have been keen to move him on before the end of the ongoing transfer window and he has attracted interest from League One clubs.

Derby are amongst the clubs who are believed to be considering snapping up the veteran striker on deadline day.

However, it has been claimed that Gregory will not be turning up at Pride Park in the final hours of the transfer window.

Despite the rumoured interest, Derby will not be making a move for the forward on transfer deadline day.

The Rams have other targets in mind and have ruled out trying to sign the Sheffield Wednesday striker today.

It remains to be seen whether Gregory finds a buyer before the window closes tonight until next summer.
