Fabio Silva has admitted that he is enjoying healthy competition with Rangers star Cyriel Dessers and believes they both bring different things to the table.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement was keen to bring in a centre forward in January and Rangers signed Silva on loan from Wolves.

Since his arrival at Ibrox, Silva has started two out of the last four league games and Dessers has started the other two.

The Wolves loanee stressed that he is enjoying competition with Dessers for a spot in the starting line-up and believes that it is good for the Rangers boss to have options on his hands.

Silva pointed out that he and Dessers are both different players with different attributes and stated that it is up to Clement to decide who he wants to use.

When asked whether he is enjoying the competition with Dessers, Silva said at a press conference: “Of course, it is healthy competition.

“Everyone knows we have a lot of games and it is impossible for me and him to play all the games in 90 minutes.

“I think it is good for the coach to have these two options for the team.

“We are different players; he has characteristics and I have mine, so he can give the team other things and I can give other things too.

“After this, it is the coach’s decision, but I think it is good for the coach to have these solutions.”

Rangers are set to take on Aberdeen on Tuesday and it remains to be seen who Clement will trust to lead the line against Neil Warnock’s side.
