Leeds United legend Dominic Matteo believes that Whites star Archie Gray has the urge to improve every single day and stressed that he is ahead of his years in terms of the way he plays.

The 17-year-old midfielder has been a revelation under Daniel Farke this season and has featured regularly in the right-back role.

Gray has played 32 times in all competitions for Leeds and his performances have garnered praise from several former players.

Matteo pointed out that people forget how young Gray is when they see him play and he thinks that the teenager is ahead of his years.

The ex-Whites star is of the view that Gray seems to be a player who wants to improve every single day.

“When you think about how old he is, we sometimes forget the way he plays and how young he actually is”, Matteo said on the Official Leeds United podcast.

“You forget because he is so balanced in everything he does; even when he talks, he speaks so well.

“When he plays, he is ahead of his years with the way he plays.

“He is a super talent and when you look at him, he just looks like he just wants to improve every single day he goes out, whether training or matchday.

“He wants to get better and when you have that in you, you have a really good chance.”

Gray will be determined to continue his form to help Leeds win promotion and get back to the Premier League this season.
