Rangers star Scott Wright thinks that winger Ross McCausland has made the Gers right winger role his own and believes the player is growing in confidence.

The 20-year-old has been a standout performer since the arrival of Philippe Clement at Ibrox and has been an important part of the Rangers squad so far.

McCausland has featured in 17 games in the season so far and has one goal and two assists to his name.

Wright hailed McCausland for having a fantastic season and pointed out that his emergence shows how Clement wants players to be ready to step up in the event of injury or a drop in form.

The Rangers star also stated that the youngster has established himself in Rangers’ right wing position and thinks that with games he is growing in confidence.

“I think Ross has been absolutely fantastic”, Wright said at a press conference.

“I think you can see that is what the manager is trying to build.

“In every position on the team, if somebody gets injured or somebody has a drop in form and the player comes in and he wants him to try and hit the ground running.

“I think Ross has done that and he has made that position his own.

“As I said, he has been brilliant; he has obviously had a few goals and assists as well, which has been great for him, and I think he is just growing from confidence to confidence.”

McCausland will be determined to continue his form to help Rangers secure the league title from Celtic this season.
