West Ham technical director Tim Steidten has claimed that he has not been approached by Liverpool yet and he is already looking forward to the next transfer window with the Hammers.
Liverpool are in the market for a new sporting director and a manager with Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of the season.
The Reds are looking to sort out the new sporting director before identifying the new manager and Steidten is believed to be one of their top targets moving forward.
His work at West Ham has been noticed by the Merseyside giants but the 44-year-old insisted that no one from the Liverpool hierarchy is yet to contact him about any interest.
The German insists he is happy at West Ham, though he has heard of the Liverpool link and is honoured by it.
Steidten stressed that he is already looking forward to the next transfer window and will formulate plans accordingly for West Ham.
He told Sky Deutschland: “I’ve heard that I am supposed to be on the list at Liverpool.
“It is one of the biggest clubs in the world, so it’s an honour. But so far nobody from Liverpool has contacted me yet.
“I generally feel very comfortable at West Ham.
“I quickly realised how intense this league is. Accordingly, we signed the right players in the last transfer windows. The squad is strong, so we can achieve our goals.
“I am looking forward to facing the next weeks and months until the end of the season.
“Of course, we are already planning the next window. What happens to the future, we will see.”
Liverpool would have to pay compensation to West Ham if they decide to try and bring in Steidten as their new sporting director.
