Todd Cantwell has returned to training with the Rangers squad ahead of the second leg of the Gers’ Europa League last 16 tie against Benfica on Thursday night.

The midfielder has missed the last five games in all competitions for Rangers after suffering a hamstring injury.

The injury issues in the Rangers squad have been mounting as they approach the business end of the season with them alive in three competitions.

However, it seems there is some good news for the Rangers fans ahead of their big European night at Ibrox against Benfica.

Cantwell was spotted in training with the rest of the Rangers squad today ahead of the Benfica clash.

The midfielder has been a key player for Philippe Clement and his return will boost the spirits inside the Rangers camp.

It remains to be seen whether he is fit enough to get straight into the starting eleven against Benfica on Thursday night.

Rangers drew 2-2 at Benfica in the first leg and are backing themselves to complete the job at Ibrox and progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
