Norwich City are showing interest in signing left-back Leonardo Lelo, with the Portuguese claimed to be highly regarded by the Canaries.

Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side are hunting a new left-back and have looked at Manchester City star Callum Doyle.

Now they are also considering an option in Portugal in the shape of Casa Pia defender Lelo.

Norwich are keen on Lelo, according to Portuguese daily Record, and he is highly regarded by the Championship side.

Lelo made 33 appearances in the Portuguese top flight for Casa Pia last season and caught the eye with his work on the left flank.

A left-back, Lelo is also able to operate further along the left flank when needed.

He is a former Portugal Under-21 international and Casa Pia have him under contract until next summer.

Norwich may feel that with the 24-year-old going into the final year of his contract at Casa Pia there is a deal to be done.
