Former Rangers star Alan Hutton insisted that the Gers cannot rely on just James Tavernier and Cyriel Dessers for goals and assists.
The Scottish giants hosted Dynamo Kyiv at Hampden Park last night in the returning leg of their Champions League qualifier and lost the match 2-0.
Jefte was sent off early in the second half and the Gers failed to score any goals on the night which led them to lose the tie 3-1.
The former Rangers defender stressed that a striker like Dessers needs help up top to score goals.
He is also of the view Gers cannot completely depend on Dessers and Tavernier to score goals and provide assists.
“The manager will be working hard, wanting more numbers from his creative players”, Hutton said on BBC Sportscene.
“[Vaclav] Cerny has just come in the building, the likes of [Tom] Lawrence and [Ross] McCausland, these guys will be wanting decent numbers.
“It’s not easy to bring in a goalscorer who is very creative as well.
“Lawrence has done well to stay fit and through pre-season.
“Does Dessers need help up top? Yes.
“You can’t rely on Dessers and Tavernier for numbers.”
Now it remains to be seen if Rangers will be able to bring in new creative players to help the goalscorers out by the end of this month.
