Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has stated his belief that Cardiff City have a good squad and predicted they have what it takes to finish in the top half of the Championship.

The Bluebirds have had a dire start to the new campaign and sit bottom of the table with just a single point to their name.

There are question marks over how much longer boss Erol Bulut will last in the job and in many aspects Leeds could not have picked a better side for their next opponents.

Farke though does not see it that way as he has looked at the Cardiff squad and is convinced about just how much quality the Welsh side boast.

He insists he is not trying to play mind games ahead of Leeds’ clash with Cardiff and fully believes the Bluebirds have the squad to be in the top half of the table when the season comes to an end.

“I got the feeling that Cardiff have a really good group of players, a really good group”, Farke told a press conference.

“When I look on their team-sheet and I see proven players like Callum Robinson, like [Yakou] Meite, they come just from the bench.

“Their team has so many experienced players in the centre of the park..

“I think they have a team to definitely finish in the top half and it’s not like playing psychological games as a manager to warn because you have to warn, I am fully convinced.

“I am pretty, pretty sure they have all the ingredients to finish in the top half.”

Cardiff will be desperate for a win when they play host to Leeds this Saturday, but the Whites will start the game as firm favourites to bounce back from a surprise home loss at the hands of Burnley.
