Leroy Fer is relishing the chance to play for Everton in the English Premier League, believing that he is set to experience a type of football which will suit his game.

The Toffees have agreed a fee with FC Twente for Fer, who is heading to Merseyside for discussions over personal terms and a medical, neither of which are likely to prove to be a problem.

And the 23-year-old cannot wait to link up with David Moyes’ men.

"As a boy I always looked to the Premier League, outside of the Eredivisie", he told Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

"To go there to play football is really something beautiful", continued the midfielder.

"Now, first I must go to Liverpool for a medical examination.

"The club and I must still come to an [agreement], but I am leaving that for my agent to sort out."

In a twist of fate, Fer played his last game for Twente at the weekend against Feyenoord, the club that developed him before selling him to the Tukkers.

And for the midfielder, that is yet another sign things are turning out just right.

"To finish it all at De Kuip, where I started my career, is very beautiful."
