Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed his summer plans and has insisted that the club are looking forward to bringing the most suitable players to Goodison Park.
The former Wigan boss added that the process of making new additions to the squad need to start early, and the club are making sure that the “right characters”, as well as the “right players” arrive at Goodison Park this summer.
“As you can imagine, that is something that you need to work early on and obviously the whole football club will work together towards that”, Martinez told Everton TV.
“There is some work going on already and over the next few weeks we need to make sure that we bring the right characters as well as the right players to the football club.”

Martinez – who guided the Latics to their first ever FA Cup title this year – also mentioned that it is important to identify players who have the right mentality for life with the Toffees.
“It’s not going to be the case of bringing anyone at any time – it’s important we identify the type of help we need in the dressing room and in the team and make sure they are a type of footballer who will fit in with the train of thought at Everton Football Club.
“It’s more a matter of finding the right players and that will take a little bit of time”, he added.
The Spaniard will begin his first pre-season as an Everton manager at the start of July.
