Everton boss Roberto Martinez has explained that he is aiming to add three or four fresh faces to the club over this summer, in order to introduce an extra dimension to the side.
The new Toffees boss insists that he is looking at signing the “right characters”, as well as the “right players”, emphasising that the Merseyside outfit are working towards achieving that goal.
Martinez further explained that the most important key is to keep the squad together in order to boost team chemistry.
"I think we need to bring in three or four new faces – one per unit, and make sure we get an extra option or dimension into the squad”, the former Wigan boss told Everton TV.

“The most important aspect is to try to keep the squad together and get every player ready."
The Spanish tactician – who guided the Latics to their first ever FA Cup last season – also indicated his interest in free agent Antolin Alcaraz and Wigan striker Arouna Kone.
The duo have been linked with joining their former boss at Goodison Park.
“You can expect those sorts of names”, he said. “They are players that I know really, really well. I worked with them really closely and they are players that are used to the Premier League and the British game.
“So you will always get those sorts of situations but at the moment we are still looking to try and bring the right characters to the football club.
“We need to remember that we have a very strong team at the club, but in the same way we don’t want to close the window without feeling stronger than we were when the window opened”, he added.
Everton, under present Manchester United manager David Moyes, finished sixth in the Premier League last season – a place above their Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
