John Terry will be fit to play for Chelsea against West Brom on Tuesday, Jose Mourinho has revealed.

The centre-back, who has been a regular fixture under Mourinho in the Premier League, was absent for his side's 3-0 win over Newcastle United earlier today.

That had raised concerns that he might miss Chelsea's trip to West Brom on Tuesday evening. But Mourinho has now eased those fears.

"John Terry has not an injury but almost an injury", the Chelsea boss said via his club's feed.

"It was a decision whether to play him or not, and we decided not to risk.

"Normally Terry will be okay for Tuesday's game."

The 3-0 victory over Newcastle sent Chelsea to the top of the Premier League standings, one point ahead of second-placed Arsenal and two clear of third-placed Manchester City, who Mourinho's men beat last Monday.
