Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny believes that Tottenham Hotspur did "not create any chances" against his side yesterday, with the only one did they receive coming from a mistake he made.

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood said after the match that Spurs outplayed Arsenal and suggested the 1-0 victory for the Gunners, secured via a second minute Tomas Rosicky wonder volley, will paper over the cracks present in Arsene Wenger's side.

But Szczesny has wasted little time in blasting back, claiming that Spurs did very little with the mountain of possession they had.

"They did not create any chances and the only one they did have [from Nacer Chadli] I pretty much gifted them", the goalkeeper told his club's site.

"We were fantastic defensively.

"We scored early so they were always going to dominate the possession.

"But the two centre backs were outstanding then Thomas Vermaelen came on and we played with three centre back. He did well as well."

The win for Arsenal leaves them firmly in the thick of the Premier League title race, sitting third with 62 points from 29 games.

Spurs meanwhile are fifth and seven points off fourth-placed Manchester City, while the Citizens have three games in hand.
