Joel Campbell insists he has "always been ready" to answer Arsenal's call, if the English giants opt to hand him an opportunity to do so.

The Costa Rica forward, who is on a season-long loan at Greek side Olympiacos from Arsenal, recently grabbed headlines in England when he scored the second of his side's two goals in their 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League.

Campbell, who has also spent time on loan at Lorient and Real Betis, will be in action tonight aiming to finish the job and send Olympiacos into the quarter-finals of the competition at Manchester United's expense.

And he would dearly love that to lead to an Arsenal recall.

"I’ve always been ready, I need them to give me the opportunity, which is what I’m working towards", he told FIFA's official site.

But not being at Arsenal yet does not mean Campbell can't clock up the memorable moments, with his 25-yard effort against Manchester United leaving him a proud man.

"It was all impulse; I saw the goalkeeper and simply hit it", he explained.

"My father was in the stands, so it was a proud moment."
