Ramsey, who signed a new deal with the Gunners yesterday along with Santi Cazorla and Gedion Zelalem, has been sidelined since Boxing Day.

And the Wales international explained that he wants to get fit as soon as possible as he intends to take his game to a new level.

The 23-year-old, who considers this season to be the best of his career after scoring 13 goals in all competitions, wants to cap off the current campaign in fine fashion.

"I feel like there's plenty more to come. This season I've proven a lot of people wrong”, Ramsey told Arsenal Player.

"There was a tough time in the period after my injury but I've got through that and I feel really confident and feel like I'm improving with every game.

"Hopefully now I can get back out onto that pitch as quickly as possible and show what I'm capable of doing and hopefully finish off the season in some style as well.

"I think this has been my best season. The number of goals I've scored early on up until Christmas time, I think that was quite good for a midfielder to do and that's been one of the biggest improvements.

"I've been a lot more composed in front of goal and taking my chances. I've been more consistent week-in, week-out so I would say it's been my best season so far.

"I think [to get to the next level] I need to go into the big games and to really show my authority on those games. Grab the game by the scruff of the neck and show everybody you can do it in the big games on a consistent basis. I think that will be the next step."

Ramsey joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008 and has thus far made 177 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 24 times.

He has also been capped 30 times by Wales and has eight international goals to his name.
