Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Ozil will not be fit to take on Wigan in the club's FA Cup semi-final date on 12th April.

The Gunners head to Wembley aiming to reach the final of the domestic cup competition and end a trophy drought which saw Arsenal last pick up a piece of silverware in 2005.

Arsenal had been hoping to call upon Ozil to help shoot down the Latics, but Wenger admits his side will have to do the job without the German.

Wenger told his club's site when asked about Ozil's progress back from injury: "The FA Cup will be too soon for him, but he will hopefully be back soon after that."
