Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole was delighted with the way the Blues performed in their 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Despite trailing 3-1 from the first leg in Paris, Jose Mourinho’s side staged a strong comeback in the return leg and qualified for the semi-finals of the European tournament on away goals.

Cole, who himself was part of the Blue Lions’ Champions League semi-final win over Liverpool in 2008, is confident that Chelsea can win the cup once again, having last won it in 2012.

“I thought when the gaffer went with the experienced boys it was a good sign because Paris aren't used to that level of football”, the current West Ham United player told Chelsea’s official site.

“They started well but then Chelsea started trying to bop it about a bit and when they started getting balls in the box they're not used to dealing with that. Chelsea just found a way and that's what good teams do.

“It was a great night, I was working for television and the gantry was rocking, what a way to win a game.

“They're in the last four now so they can win it", the 32-year-old added.

“It would have been nice if Real Madrid had gone out, another big gun, but Chelsea have every chance of winning it.”

Chelsea are also contending for the Premier League title this year, currently second in the table, they are just two points behind leaders Liverpool, and will be hoping to better their position when they play Swansea City on Sunday.
