Former Portugal midfielder Deco believes that Chelsea can win the Champions League this year, after they qualified for the semi-finals by beating French club Paris saint-Germain 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho’s men were trailing 3-1 from the opening leg of the quarter-finals, but a strong performance in the return leg ensured that the Blues booked a berth in the last four, and Deco, who took part in the Champions League with both Barcelona and Chelsea, feels that the Blues’ have the resources to win the trophy this year.

“I know exactly what the atmosphere here is like, when I played here with Barcelona it was very difficult and, after that, I played for Chelsea, so I know how the atmosphere can help the team”, he told Chelsea’s official site.

“Chelsea have the best coach in the world and many experienced players, such as [Frank] Lampard, [John] Terry and Samuel Eto'o.

“They have fantastic younger players as well, we all know it's difficult but in the Champions League anything can happen”, the Brazil-born legend added.

Chelsea last won the Champions League in 2012, when they beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties to lift the European trophy, and will be looking forward to the draw on Friday in the hopes of repeating their feat.
