Chelsea skipper John Terry has expressed his relief at the Blues managing to edge out Swansea City 1-0 today.

Swansea suffered an early blow at the Liberty Stadium when defender Chico Flores was sent off after just 17 minutes. The defender had committed two yellow card offences and the Welsh giants were then up against it.

Chelsea then had to work hard and be patient to break down Swansea and find a way through.

The goal came in the 68th minute when Demba Ba made the breakthrough – and 1-0 was the way it stayed, giving Chelsea three points and moving them to two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

"Patience was the key today, especially after they had a man sent off not long into the game", Terry told Sky Sports.

"At times we weren't patient and weren't at our best, but we'll take the three points today."

Chelsea now switch their focus to locking horns with Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Champions League action after that against Atletico Madrid.
