Jose Mourinho has refused to be drawn into praising Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers for their performance this season and insisted he should not be asked questions about the Reds.

The Portuguese takes his team to Anfield on Sunday in a top-of-the-table Premier League clash, with Liverpool sitting five points ahead of the Blues in the standings.

Rodgers worked under Mourinho during the latter's first spell at Chelsea and the Portuguese was asked at a press conference today for his view of the job his former coach has done at Anfield.

Mourinho replied: "Don't ask me about Liverpool and about Brendan.

"Why should I answer?"

Asked about the upcoming game, Mourinho added: "We are going to try to win, that's a simple and objective answer. Nobody goes into a game to lose."

The Chelsea manager was also asked whether his talents rubbed off on Rodgers, helping him to flourish as a manager at Liverpool.

"I think he is a good manager because of him", Mourinho said.
