Ligue 1 Lorient are battling to keep hold of striker Vincent Aboubakar amid interest from English giants Chelsea.

Aboubakar took Ligue 1 by storm this season and found the back of the net 16 times in 34 games, winning plaudits from all corners.

Lorient would love to keep the 22-year-old into 2014/15, but have a fight on their hands, with the Cameroonian having already received several offers from England, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

While the identity of the clubs chasing Aboubakar is not known, Chelsea did scout the striker intensely towards the end of the season.

Aboubakar has been included in Cameroon's World Cup squad and could well take advantage of the tournament to increase his stock still further.

Lorient signed the striker in 2013 from fellow French side Valenciennes.
