Chelsea may be struggling to get a deal for Diego Costa signed off by Atletico Madrid, but that has not put Jose Mourinho's men off continuing to shop at the Vicente Calderon.

The Blues are keen to snap up Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis, having been impressed with his performances for Diego Simeone's men this season as Los Rojiblancos won their first La Liga title since 1996.

Now, according to Sky Italia, Chelsea are preparing to pay Luis' release clause, which would leave Atletico Madrid powerless to prevent his departure.

The clause sits at the €25m mark.

Chelsea are actively hunting a new left-back, with Ashley Cole poised to end his long association with the club this summer.
