Chelsea are interested in signing Roma striker Mattia Destro, the player's agent has admitted, however the Italian does not want to leave the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

Jose Mourinho's men have been linked with offering to swap out-of-favour striker Fernando Torres for Destro, as they seek to snap up the Italy international and offload their misfiring Spaniard.

But Destro's agent says no swap agreement is on the cards, even if he can confirm that Chelsea are firm fans of the Roma hitman.

"It's true that Chelsea are interested in Mattia", ITV quoted Destro's agent as saying.

"But the reports regarding a swap deal have no foundation, it's all speculation", he added.

And the striker, who has long been tipped for reach the very top of world football and scored 13 goals for Roma last term, does not want to bail out on the Giallorossi.

"Roma don't want to sell Mattia and Mattia prefers to remain at Roma."

Destro has also been linked with Chelsea's London rivals Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The striker's contract with the Giallorossi runs until the summer of 2017.
