Chelsea defender Gary Cahill feels that there is a lot of quality in his team's defence and everyone is experienced in their own right.

The Pensioners ran out 3-1 winners against Sporting Lisbon yesterday, thus ending the Champions League group stage on an unbeaten note.

Speaking about his defensive partners on the night, Kurt Zouma, Filipe Luis and Cesar Azpilicueta, Cahill added that the overall quality in defence for his team was impressive.

"There’s a lot of quality there and we’re all experienced in our own right", Cahill told his club's official site.

"They have all played in the Champions League, obviously Kurt less so.

"But they have the experience of playing in different leagues in Europe and against opposition from around the continent. It’s great to work with these guys."

Speaking about the events of the night, the England international added that the game went really well defensively for his team.

"We switched the back four a bit and apart from the goal we conceded I thought it went really well and we worked well together.

"It was a pleasing night all round really. Of course the pressure was off but it was nice to get the win."
