Wales national team boss Chris Coleman has insisted that Arsene Wenger has no right to complain over Aaron Ramsey’s selection against Andorra as he didn’t contact him over any concerns about the fitness of the Arsenal midfielder.

The Arsenal man turned out for Wales against Andorra in a Euro 2016 qualifier in October, something that Wenger was unhappy with.

Ramsey is nursing a hamstring injury and didn’t feature in Arsenal’s last two league games. Wenger criticised the Wales boss for selecting the player and believes he should have shown more common sense.

Coleman hasn’t taken the Arsenal boss’ comments lightly and feels Wenger should have just called him up when needed rather than having a pop at his expense in public.

"If he has got a problem with my selection of one of his players then pick the phone up and tell me", Coleman was quoted as saying by the Irish Independent.

"Our jobs are hard enough as managers without having a little chip at each other, especially a cheap shot like that.”

The Wales boss revealed that Arsenal didn’t contact him over any concerns about Ramsey’s fitness, so he is definitely not at fault in selecting the midfielder.

Coleman explained that other clubs have contacted him over concerns about their players’ fitness and they have been dealt with properly. He stressed that it is a simple norm and Wenger could have easily followed it, rather than criticising his selection.

"We didn't have a phone call from the Arsenal manager or any correspondence from their medical team and that is a green light for us to play the player.

"We had that correspondence from Real Madrid over Gareth Bale and I saw that Wenger spoke to Roy Hodgson to warn him about Theo Walcott to warn him.

"Why didn't he call me up? Just a five-minute phone call to say 'be careful' and that's exactly what I would have done. But I never got that phone call.

“Nothing."
