Despite Arsenal’s midweek Champions League disappointment, Arsene Wenger has vowed to fight on in both Europe and England.

Arsenal’s season received a massive jolt in the form of a 5-1 thrashing at Bayern Munich on Wednesday night and their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League round of 16 are now firmly in the balance.

The Gunners need results to go their way later this month and then they have to beat Olympiacos in Greece by a margin of two clear goals to make it to the next round of the competition.

Despite having the odds stacked against them, Wenger is still confident and has vowed to fight in the Champions League until the end.

The Frenchman said in a press conference this morning: "I want to stay in the Champions League and will do absolutely everything to stay in it.”

Arsenal have been in good form in the league and many feel they are one of the favourites to win the Premier League title, but Wenger feels it’s too early to make such predictions.

Wenger said: "It is too early. We want to be in the fight and will do absolutely everything to do it."

The Frenchman is pleased with the consistency his team have shown since the turn of the year and revealed that they are firmly focused on the targets they want to achieve this season.

The Arsenal boss said: “We are on a trend since the first of January 2015 that is consistent.

"We focus on our own targets and try to do as well as we can."
