Arsene Wenger is not concerned about the public perception of his Arsenal side, and just wants his players to concentrate on their jobs.

The Gunners have received scathing criticism and flak after their 3-2 loss to a youthful, but injury ravaged Manchester United side on Sunday and many questioned the mental fortitude of the Arsenal players.

As they lost further ground to Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the title race, there is a perception that the Gunners are again failing to cope with the pressure of competing for the league.

However, the Frenchman is unconcerned about the public perception of his side and insisted that as professional, he and his players are only trying to think about a way to bounce back from Sunday’s reversal.

Wenger said in a press conference held this morning: “The perception is public.

He admits that losing to Manchester United was disappointing, but indicated that other than a few lapses in concentration, he does not feel that his side were that bad.

“We lost at Man United and we are not happy with the result of course, but if you analyse well, I think we had two lapses in focus, which we paid for; it made the game difficult for us.”
